I'll be taking Human Resource Economics next term as a core module.

Hmm, what elective module should i take next term??

I have a few choices actually:

Finance Law (law-based) - Lectures will be drawn from a selection of the following topics: key Australian financial system regulators; fundraising by issue and sale of securities; managed investment schemes; loan finance; debenture and note finance; takeovers; regulation of financial services and markets; the financial services licensee/client relationship. - ZZZZZZ.

Tourism and Hospitality Law (law-based) - Study will focus on contracts for passenger transport and traveller accommodation, consumer protection and carrier liability laws relating to travel agents and other industry operators, visas and passports, and the law relating to supply of food and liquor, and gaming and racing. - ZZZZZZZ.

Company Law (law-based) - This unit will examine how Australian company law provides for the formation, operation and termination of companies as a form of business organisation. The relationships between participants in the enterprise, between the company and the state and between the company and those outside the company will be considered. - ZZZZZZ.

Technology and Accounting Processes (accounting-based) - the unit will teach fundamental accounting concepts and principles which will enable students to be able to record, process and analyse accounting information. Topics: the double entry recording system, financial statements, valuations and measurement of assets, liabilities and equity. - ZZZZZZ.

Knowledge and Organisational Learning (management-based) - This unit examines how the concepts of information and knowledge assist in the understanding of organisational processes, especially organisational learning. Topics examined include: economic development; the policy process; electronic business and governance; organisational memory; and decision-making and strategy. - ANY MANAGEMENT MODULE IS OUT. I'VE ENOUGH OF MANAGEMENT MODULES, ESP WITH BORING LECTURERS!

Business Intelligence Tools & Techniques (Some basic familiarity with spreadsheets and the Internet is assumed. Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.) - This unit explores the tools and methods used to support organisational decision making through business intelligence (BI) tools and techniques. Students are exposed to practical aspects of BI through a series of cases using commercially available BI tools. Topics include decision making and support, modelling and analysis, data mining, business performance management, and intelligent systems. - SOUNDS INTERESTING

Cyber forensics: identification and recovery of digital evidence from computers. This evidence is used in investigations by law enforcement and other investigative bodies, legal and accounting professions, and information managers. Focus: vulnerabilities of information management systems; investigation identification, recovery, analysis and presentation of digital evidence; and trends in cyber forensics. Introduction to the processes of basic evidence identification, recovery and analysis through an investigation project. Students investigate a cyber crime and report on the evidence. - SOUNDS VERY INTERESTING.

Media Law & Ethics - Students learn about and are tested in the legal and ethical constraints faced by reporters, editors, sub-editors, producers, writers and presenters in all media. They receive a grounding in aspects of media law of practical relevance to journalists, including contempt of court, defamation and copyright. - CASE LAW!! NOOOO!!

Ok, guess itz pretty fixed. but i wonder if the exam is closed or open book for the INTERESTING modules. I know law modules are usually open book.. means i dun have to spend time memorizing anything..HMMM..

Ok, i think i rather go for open-book exams. No need to take too much leave!
